Concentric’s geoscience team was retained to assess the environmental liability associated with a cement manufacturing facility’s planned expansion for copper slag storage and future trans-loading operations. The study involved analysis of the feedstock, assessment of the natural and built environment at and surrounding the expansion areas, simulated precipitation-derived leaching effects and comprehensive regulatory review. Results of the assessment were used to identify a preferred development option and associated design elements for mitigating potential environmental risk.
